"Traditional" humor is dying, sure

But it has been replaced with smumor (smart humor). With a more educated populace, interested in political topics and the social climate, humor is better used as a medium for teaching instead of just cheap laughs.

Why exactly does this concept make Any Forums so mad?

Because Any Forums- isn't smart. They get all their information from memes so they don't understand the real world

The blending of entertainment and serious political discussion lends itself to low-information voters and propaganda. The Trump era of punditry (regardless of your opinion of Trump) really drove this point home.

I, for one, welcome our corporate overlords' newfound avenue of expanding their stranglehold on political discourse in America.

>With a more educated populace, interested in
the only thing changing is that zoomers are less informed than previous generations and there are more niggers, who are incapable of being informed in the first place

You type like a fag

10/10 bait

not really. it's too on the nose. this will get archived before it gets traction, even with the retards cruising here.

>pol screencap
It goes into the garbage

based smumorposter

two reasons I don't like it:
1. people, especially americans will laugh and clap and whoop for jokes that make the point they want to hear even if the joke is shit. Topical comedy shows where the writers are just soapboxing their opinions and doing the bare minimum to shape them into a joke structure are generally shit, the politics becomes a justification for putting out lazier, low quality products
2. It's disingenuous. Shows like John Oliver are clearly designed to be taken seriously as news sources/factual programs but present themselves as 'just comedians making jokes' to get around any criticism of their content. This format isn't a product of comedians getting smarter and more politically literate, it's a product of americans getting lazier and stupider and only able to consume news media that's loaded with quips like a fucking marvel film

>Humor shouldn't require people to laugh
Then don't call it humor/comedy.
These are modern day preachers, not comedians.

Because none of it is organic, much less funny.

Oh great another faggot hoping to force a new term.

people like john oliver bug me because when they get called out on the things they say, they hide behind the comedian label.

>smumor (smart humor).
More like smugmor, or, as I like to call it, smegmor

>the real world = castrating children
KYS troon

It's literally government paid actors giving government agency talking points with people clapping because an "APPLAUSE" light came on, user.

This. They're the worst cowards we see on a regular basis.

>Americans is bloody schewpid now innit, roight, yeah, cheers
*thunderous applause*
>Oi ain't a bloody American an' 'ave no bloody oidea 'ow their politics work but oi still make millions of pounds- oi mean, dollahs- makin' fun of 'em innit
*thunderous applause*
>Trump bad
*THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE*
How is this show still on the air?

>educated
indoctrinated & passive tbqhwu

It's hilarious how transparent it is that all these faggots attacking Tucker Carlson are literally just petty attacks on someone they view as "competition".

It's like is McDonald's made a mini "documentary" on how bad and "problemnatic" Burger King was and all the soiboys went "YAAAAAAAAS PREACH SISTA OMG I AM SO INFORMED RIGHT NOW, BK CHUDS BTFO YAAAAAAAAAS".

Would prefer listening to the shittiest Dane Cook album than today's bullshit.

falling for this sort of bait is why rightoids will never win again

But user, CNN and MSNBC are even more of a farce

>humor is better used as a medium for teaching instead of just cheap laughs.

finely crafted bait

Keep believing that. It will make the chimp out after your next inevitable loss (very soon, BTW) that much more extreme and entertaining. This attitude is why you chimped so fucking hard in 2016.

'What is a woman?' for 500 Oliver.
