I think the main issue is that people just don’t think about it, most people are somewhat logical and so wouldn’t believe that everybody just woke up and decided to be racist but most people don’t ever need to think about if that happened or not, they just see Hitler=bad from the day they’re born

Yes no. People wouldn't suicide over business only ideals. But almost no one that claims to have ideals would actually die for them. At beat you can hope a enough people are willing to risk their lives for ideals but just as many if not more people will risk their lives for business/material compensation.
Thats the case for the conquest of the americas, conquistadors werent spanish soldiers, they were investors who paid their own journey under the promise of keeping what they looted minus a cut for the king.
