Not so long ago i watched The Third Man (1949) and it was pretty good desu. Solid script, good premise and extremely beautiful cinematography, specially with the way shadows are used towards the end

He did pay attention to it though, he disliked common stuff like landscapes, I belive he primarily wanted to to communicate meaning through symbols and intuition, not through aesthetics or intellect, I think is fucking cool.
