Have two human beings ever conversed like this? Everything from the dialogue itself to the delivery is so fucking awkward in an intentional or good way. Everyone else in the background was going "OOOOOOOHH" like each line was a 'sick burn'.

I always disliked the second half of this movie and introducing it like this didn't help. Kubrick was a hack. He didn't know who his Gunny was going to be until the last second and he made an supposedly "anti-war" film while only ever disparaging one side of the conflict
