The technology for the widespread production and dissemination of media came out of the West and therefore reflected the West. As far as Japan goes they developed their own studio system, as early as and around the same time as Hollywood I'll add, that continues to produce its own media and therefore stars.

Aside from a few novelty cultural exports; Anime, JAV, KPop, Godzilla movies, Kung Fu movies, and Nintendo; Asians have had little to no cultural impact on us Westerners.

The West is a global empire, user. Bollywood can only influence Hollywood via novelty while Western media sets the tone for the entire world.
