It's as depressing as you'd think. It's not the structure that's depressing, but how people have given up on life and refuse to do anything about it. Kind and welcoming people, but static and spiritually dead. Would not send my children to such a place for even a day. I really hate villages, the rural life, and specifically the Bulgarian rural life. It sells you peace and silence, certainly a great place to LARP out the average DIY fantasy, but will suck the soul out of you and turn you into a suicidal alcoholic.

This is the same in america. People larp about how shit cities are which can absolutely be true but the "rural" places everyone hypes up are really more suburban than rural. Real rural places in America like the Appalachians are exactly like you described, completely dead, with no hope of revival, massive alcoholism, drug addiction. Totally hopeless, complaining about how things were better before the ol' mine shut down, they know they have no future there but won't do anything to leave for a better life. Just hanging on by a thread.

If you could flee the centers of power and go live in an isolated homestead with your "heckin redpilled self-sufficient garden and tradwaifu", the Amish would be in power right now. End result? They hold zero political power. They do reproduce, but they keep fleeing and isolating themselves further. They're at the full mercy of the federal government, which may just crack down on them tomorrow and no one will say a thing.
That's why American conservatives are ideologically stunted and just don't get it yet. Conservatism sucks. You cannot run away from the problems. If you have an issue with Berlin being the tranny HQ of the world, form a fucking party around that issue, go specifically in Berlin, and clean it up with a radical aggression. It's that simple. But passive conservatism and actively fleeing to the rural is the direct opposite. Can you imagine Hitler fleeing to bumfuck Bavaria with his tradwaifu in the cute one-room tradhouse? It's like it doesn't fit the image, he wouldn't be right wing if he did that.
