Canadians hate smokers. Only around 15% of Canadians smoke. It's also taxed very heavily and import/export of tobacco products has a 300% duty assigned to it, and virtually every city has no smoking in public spaces by-law or the province has some similar anti-smoking legislation.

However most businesses have an assigned "smoking area" because you can't actually tell people not to smoke at work. You can tell them where to smoke, but not that they cannot smoke.

Their smoke still hurts like fucking hell breathing in, regardless of my outlook on life.

I had a coworker that smoked and I didn't realize it for months because he was polite and smoked in private.
I do not think about smokers because they are rare here.

We ban them. Raised taxes alot, banned smoking at (outside of) restaurants, pubs and public transportation.
Smokers doesn't have a "natural place" here anymore and are shunned like they should be.
