why is this movie so comfy? i can watch it literally any time its on tv. fair number of early 90s movies are like that for me. maybe because im a boomer and saw most of them in the theater

HE HAD A MECHANICAL
ARM

>Get yourself a Glock. They shoot underwater!

This is a really good question, I’d have to watch it again soon to nail it down. But I would add to your point in so many “on the run” movies and shows the tension is so phony and dialed in so it’s a pretty low bar

Same reason as Air Force One, 90’s Harrison Ford was absolute kino.
I wish we’d gotten an Indy movie during this time instead of 2008.

tight script
prime TLJ
Ford isn't a total robot
good backup cast (Pantoliano and the dude from Valley Girl)
decent dialog
>Well, shit, sheriff, I'd hate to see that happen, so I guess I'll just take over your investigation

>I don't care if you're innocent!
Amerishart police.

Wanna know how we know you didn't even watch it?

Ford was basically fighting against the (((Big Pharma))) in this movie

Has a comfy Chicago winter setting. Extremely well paced and acted. Harrison Ford is a genuinely nice guy in the movie who saves lives while on the run. Just has a great vibe to it

*throws mannequin off waterfall*

Police don't determine innocence... anywhere.

>Ford actually gives a shit
>Jones gives a great performance
>rest of the cast is good
>every character behaves rationally
>the movie trusts their audience to follow what's happening without everything being spoonfed
>perfectly paced
>Big Pharma is the villain

>*throws mannequin off waterfall*
I remember watching a behind the scenes clip of that and the prop department is talking about how the dummy cost like $50,000 and it perfectly mimics human movement, then in the actual scene it's just falling like any cheap ass dummy

is the original show any good

any more movies with m51 fishtail parkas with liners?

this movie is great but it peaks in the first third and the rest isn't as good

nothing can top the train wreck scene, but I like how it transitions from more of an action movie to a murder mystery then back to an action movie

everything from the beginning to when tommy lee jones confronts harrison ford at the waterfall is 10/10 but then it becomes more of a 7/10

beginning to waterfall/dam scene: 10/10
finding the real killer and uncovering the conspiracy with Jones chasing: 9/10
confrontation with the conspirators: 7/10

>$50,000
they could convince a bum to fall off a waterfall with that amount of movie

Tommy Lee Jones is one of those actors that automatically improves every movie he's in.

except Batman Forever

the train they crashed cost less than the dummy
