FAQ U: >How do I learn a language? What is the best way to learn one? How should I improve on certain aspects? Read the damn wiki. >Should I learn lang Y so I can learn lang X? No. >What is the most useful language? Hausa >What language should I learn? Tamasheq
I've stated learning German recently cause people say it's very useful but I have realized that there's no media to consume in that language. I'm not living in DACH, have no one to talk to. No interesting german YouTube channels. It seems germans only have old books and nothing more. Moreover it seems germans are good english speakers themselves and it renders German useless. Anyone feeling the same?

Deutschland Funk's news radio is alright. For Youtube the only big entertainment ones I know of are people like Papaplatte, the content is tailored toward zoomers so it could be unbearable for some

The previous thread had a couple nice recommendations for German movies. But recommending media is always hard without knowing anything about your tastes. I do agree that German literature is particularly strong, cinema less so.

> Я пoнятия нe имeю. Good. "Я бeз пoнятия" is another way to say it. > Кoгдa oнa вышлa? Good, but: the prefix "-вы" implies movement out of an enclosed space. "Ушлa" is more general and reflects the original sentence better. > Я этo пoмню > Teбe cтoит cдeлaть этo ceйчac > Boзмoжнo ты пpaв > мoлoдeц Good. > He зaбyдь твoи ключи кaк и в пpoшлый paз "He зaбyдь cвoи ключи, кaк в пpoшлый paз." When describing an object that belongs to and undergoes an action by the subject of the sentence, it's preferable to use "cвoй" (in this case it's required). "Кaк и" is used similarly to the English "as well as", and thus, in this context, it sounds out of place. > Гoвopя o кoтopых, гдe oн нa caмoм дeлe "Кcтaти гoвopя, a гдe oн вooбщe?". > Кaждый paз, гдe я нecy зoнтик, дoждя нeт. Пpoгнoз пoгoды дoлжeн пoйти нaхyй. Кaждый paз, кoгдa я бepy (c coбoй) зoнтик, дoждя нeт. Пpoгнoз пoгoды дoлжeн пoйти нaхyй.
I am glad to see you back friend. You are always welcome in /lang/.

Which Native African Language should I learn? I'm thinking either Yoruba or Swahili... Amharic maybe a contender too. What do you guys think?

Swahili is famous for being easy to learn. Hausa is also supposed to be comparatively easy, and it looks very interesting to me.

Swahili, Hausa, or Amharic. Swahili will be the easiest, have the most 2nd language learner resources, and the most people to practice with.

that's what I did with English

Once I get to C1 Italian, should I start learning Mandarin or Russian? I'm conflicted between the two.
