I feel bad for energy firms. The customers are utter cunts and they're always getting leaned on by the government to do their job for them, to top it off everyone is always making out like they run a massive financial surplus and if only we nationalised them then people could have free energy.

Nobody cared when the pandemic hit and their shareprice got raped, nobody cared when small energy firms were going bust last winter and nobody cared that energy firms had to run a stand-mandated loss before the price-cap rose.

I guess they couldn't suspend services in winter, like on humanitarian grounds, at least it works that way in Canada. depending on late fees and what wage increases would be in the new year it might actually make sense given inflation.
