How are Russians treated there ?

How are Russians treated there ?

Do the Russians who went back to Russia after the fall of the USSR sometimes go to Central Asia to see the city where their grandparents lived ?

Is Russian still spoken and learnt ?

Are they hardcore mohammedans or just islamists by the name like Bosnians ?

Are there still nomads ?

>How are Russians treated there ?

Mostly good, occasionally badly but not often. Treated much better than in Ukraine, Moldova or Baltic states.

>Do the Russians who went back to Russia after the fall of the USSR sometimes go to Central Asia to see the city where their grandparents lived ?

Yes, a lot. My dad was born in Kyrgyzstan and we still have some relatives there. We visit every few years. We're ethnic Russian.

>Is Russian still spoken and learnt ?

Yes, everybody speaks Russian in those countries, especially Kazakhstan.

>Are they hardcore mohammedans or just islamists by the name like Bosnians ?

Kazakhs and Kyrgyz are mostly secular, others are pretty religious but still more secular than Pakis or Arabs.

>Are there still nomads ?

Not a lot

Are there very many ethnic Russians still in Kyrgyzstan? Or have they mostly came back to Russia?

Most left because Kyrgyzstan is a very poor country, same with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. Kazakhstan however still has decent quality of life (for post soviet standards) so there is still lots of Russians there. Kyrgyzstan still has about 5% Russian population which is still noticeable.

they love white boys there

but are Russians white?

However keep in mind this map is only showing the population of the whole countries and they are very rural overall. Bishkek (capital city of Kyrgyzstan) is at least 20% Russian/Ukrainians and I always see lots of Russians when I go there, but once you leave the city, then it becomes only native Kyrgyz.

Whiter than germs and def whiter than frogs

So they're whiter than literally 90% of all white people

Only Kazakhs do, others barely intermingle with Slavs because of their religiosity.

Does it matter? We are the only Europeans who live in those places. There are no Anglos or French in Central Asia.

I heard women can't drive anymore in Turkmenistan and your map shows that 3.2% of Turkmenistan was Russian in 2010-2014. Didn't they protest, didn't Moscow say something ?

Nobody knows what happens in Turkmenistan, not even Russians. it's basically Central Asian North Korea.

i'll answer for kz specifically
>How are Russians treated there ?
not unlike everyone else

>Is Russian still spoken and learnt ?
yes, but depends on the region and ethnicity

>Are they hardcore mohammedans or just islamists by the name like Bosnians ?
most are secular or not religious

>Are there still nomads ?
rare but you can find still some

almaty isn't the whole country

don't listen to russians in this thread they'll say we're evil and opress them
there are a lot of germans in almaty

I think you will also find it quite interesting and surprising that Central Asians view us quite positively overall.

i heard in the cities most people use russian

>there are a lot of germans in almaty
vgh I'll fit right in

>don't listen to russians in this thread they'll say we're evil and opress them

I have never said this. I have family in Kyrgyzstan and a little in Kazakhstan, too. They live quite well. Baltics, Ukraine and Moldova oppress Russians the most.

yeah, but kazakhs often talk in kazakh or at least in both languages to each other. plus migrants from rural regians have been increasingly kazakhifying the cities for some time

that's good to hear, дaвaйтe жить дpyжнo

Not just cities, there are whole rural areas in KZ that have majority or plurality of Russians. Northern parts of Kazakhstan and some Kazakh cities are more ethnic Russian than almost all Caucasus republics like Chechnya and Dagestan which are part of Russia.

I heard Kazakhstan is switching from Cyrillic to Latin alphabet and Russia wasn't too happy about it. Is this still the plan?

this is a giant meme user

it's still planned for 2024, but the current version of latin is still shit so i hope it doesn't happen lol

I heard it's because they want to copy Turkey but I'm not sure.

Switching the alphabet or Russia being angry about it?

to switch the alphabet you'd need to print out new textbooks, documents, code new databases etc and our country is very corrupt. when russians do complain about central asia it's usually the immigrants
