Bananas are yellow!

Norm wasn't anything special so that's probably why.

I wish I had a based downs friend

Yellow posting

yeah but i liked the cushions are boats line

Why was letterman so obsessed with how it'd play in a crowd? It only had like 5 jokes in the entire thing, it was just the last confessions of a dying man

i didnt finish it because i had something come up so i didnt get to the commentary stuff

The airplane stuff was good. The rest was super raw

To be fair you can find out how it would play to a crowd just by typing Norm stand up in youtube.
I dont think theres any idea but theres loads of audio for this whole set.

His next one will be better I'm sure

Unironically a better joke than most of the jokes on the special
You should try stand up user, if nothing else, you can't possibly be worse than Schaub

Shut up man dont give him confidence

I thought David letterman was dead

Why was David spade given the worst chair

Why was Chapelle so emotional? Sounded like he barely knew norm

Dave said he got him through depression when his dad died

I'm not far into it but it just feels like he's doing a practice in front of the mirror. Really exposes how important the crowd is for these comedy specials. Kind of sad really

Tbf considering he's just Infront of a camera I think he did well considering what other could achieve in the same circumstances

I watched this today and 85% of it was literally the stand up material that he used when I saw him at a casino in early 2019. Glad to know I saw his last set.

i like how it turned out, minus the cringe second half with the reaction nonsense. Sure, there aren't any gutbusters, but it was quaint, personal, and rough. The absence of a crowd reacting is a great backdrop to the atmosphere of the special, and as a fan of Norm i enjoy this odd setup paired with the context of why the special is being filmed this way. To be a pseud for a bit, his previous criticisms of meta/altcomedy stuff comes to a satisfying circle with this, as it (incidentally) subverts stand up comedy on a much more conceptual level than the supposed alternative comedy comedians. Their attempt at deconstructing comedy only goes as far as to do something weird for its own sake, or purposefully bomb. Whereas this (again, incidentally) puts focus on the spaces of sound where you would traditionally be conditioned to react to whatever was said.

it's weird, especially since spade seemed like the realest nigga there.
