True, they deserved better. They deserved to play well written characters in non trash movies, which would immediately make 99% of misplaced fan resentment dissappear. Nobody complained about James Earl Jones and Billy Dee Williams back in the day. Nobody complained about Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito and Rosario Dawson in Mandalorian, and that show was merely mediocre. It's almost like nobody actually cares about dark-skinned characters in Star Wars as long as they are not cast by complete hacks trying to deliver a political message.
