Impossible because Dante was a massive simp with a chip on his shoulder. Wouldn't get past Inferno for mainstream audiences

What Dreams May Come. Although it's heavily taking influence from The Divine Comedy.

What Dreams May Come

>implying we'll see an adaption of a work that sees Mohammad getting repeatedly butchered
Worth it for that shitstorm alone

The better question is, could there ever be an adaptation of the two books that aren't Inferno? I've never in my life seen any popular interpretations of Purgatorio or Paradisio, let alone a faithful depiction.

That said, I really enjoyed this version of Inferno.

No because it had antisemitic stuff.

wouldn't even get to that point, even before that the punishment for homosexuals is to run while being pelted by a rain of fire
Also the gluttons are forced to swim in poop and urine, so a German would have to direct it

Would be fun to see if they had the bollocks about them to show malebolge in all it's glory, especially Canto 28

It is not possible to faithfully capture extant reality in film

Well, if there is an adaptation, is better be bloody FAITHFUL!

*Ricky Gervais face*

If only Mel did this instead of Passion 2.

I was just about to write this. Heh, we really are alike user.

>faggots go straight to hell.
no, its too based for these horrible times.

Of course fucking not, not now anyway. Maybe back in the black and white era, hell I wouldn't be surprised if someone did an adaptation back then.

There's a well regarded silent film adaptation of Inferno. Purgatorio could definitely be adapted. Paradiso would be difficult.

It would cost a fortune to do the entire poem. And it’s too religious to ever be successful with audiences. It works far better as literature anyways
