I pray to Avalokiteśvara/Guanyin for protection and then go out and drive extremely recklessly. I never get in an accident. It's a little lifehack I've developed for myself, you're free to use it.

To be fair Theravadin lay people engage in similar Hinduised god worship/rituals. Ganesh and Brahma are popular in Thailand Sri Lanka has its own versions of: Skanda and Vishnu from Hindu and Avalokitesvara and Samantabhadra from Mahayana
