If The Creator created heaven, earth, fire, water, and wind, we can worship his creation as well.
Even if the Creator created the gods, we may still worship the gods as we please.
The Creator does not get jealous. If we worship his creation, we are worshipping the creator indirectly.

The gods guide us. Just as the Muslims *and Christians believe in angels and other spirits, we believe in our gods.
We believe in Indra, Agni, Varuna, Bhumi, etc. it is our right to do as we please
Angels and spirits are not to be worshipped or feared. They are mortals just like us.
You live by your faith, and we live by ours
There is only true faith and one true God.
And Allah does not want anything to be worshipped besides Him.

Theravada is SOVL-less. Mahayana and Vajrayana brought back the gods and the SOVL.
Theravada + Madhyamaka is literally what Buddhism used to be about.
Mahayana + Vajrayana/Zen are weird.

technically there are no gods in mahayana but lay people didn't make the distinction
