Poles did it in 1960s. Remains the most accurate thing so far,

>Some scenes were filmed at authentic Egyptian locales. For example, the scene in which Prince Ramses learns that his father Pharaoh Ramses XII has died and that he has now become Pharaoh Ramses XIII, takes place against the backdrop of the pyramids of Giza; but the crowds of tourists and the present-day appearance of the area made it near-impossible to find good takes. One of the many consultants on the film was Poland's Professor Kazimierz MichaƂowski, a world authority in Egyptology. Another was Shadi Abdel Salam, an Egyptian film director and costume designer, was the costume designer for Pharaoh.

>directed by Mel Gibson
>film funded by rich Arabs
yeah, I'm thinking based

Is that Cavill? They should call it We Were Kings.

We were Kings. Yes.

Someone suggested Mel Gibson directing so the title actually fits.

You're not asking for an "accurate" ancient Egypt movie -- you're asking for one that best fits your ignorant preconceptions.

4,000 years ago "race" was not anything like you envision it today.

Pause for one moment, sir. Are you stating that my ancestors were of royal blood?

The racial lines were probably stronger

Race and cultural differences was even bigger back then, even emissaries could have had their dead bodies sent back on a horse due to a minor faux pas.

Thye didn't care about race, they cared about keeping blacks in their place. Only blacks. Greeks or other visitors from north were mostly welcome apart from Sea People. Egyptian's main concern were blacks from south - multiple Pharaohs, including queen Hatshepsut, had to deal with rioting nubians. Note Rameses II statue 'crushing' african slaves. Abu Simbel was supposed to be a warning and marks south borders of Egypt.

However at some point Egyptains failed and Nubians conquered Egypt for one dynasty, then Egyptians re-united and forced them out.

Whenever this guy decides to make one, I guess.

You'll need to forgive me, my memory is rusty. How much time was there in between the Nubian and Ptolemaic dynasties?

We were kings and such

>How much time was there in between the Nubian and Ptolemaic dynasties?

Nubians were 25th dynasty. We are talking about around 600BC.
Ptolemy are considered 30/31 which is 300BC.

+/-300 years. Not much for an empire that lasted over 3000.

>Nubians were 25th dynasty. We are talking about around 600BC.
Nubians started before 700BC

user asked 'between' so I count ending of nubians and begning of Ptolemy. Ptolemy lasted 300 years until death of Cleopatra. Nubians lasted like 100 at most.
