There are more poor people in Africa now than in the 1990s.
Why is africa so poor?
They breed like rabbits.
probably because they multiply like fucking ants
Not as much as indians/chinese THOUGH
Non meme answer: communism or at least the lasting effect of it. Some state are victims of wars and tribalism too.
CN TFR is 1.3, IN TFR is 1.94. AFR TFR is 4.12.
For AFR countries their population growth is outpacing economic growth
>Non meme answer: communism or at least the lasting effect of it
How come? Explain?
>Some state are victims of wars and tribalism too.
Why is your country poor?
>How come? Explain?
Do I really need to explain to you why communism is retarded?
>Why is your country poor?
Communism and slow as fuck industrialization.
Read "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa" by Walter Rodney, and "Neo-Colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism" by Kwame Nkrumah. Both are available for free online.
>Do I really need to explain to you why communism is retarded?
Nah but overall, it shouldn't have a lasting impact, those who weren't communist were still pretty poor
N
Also why is your countries economy not grown, even the drc, the warzone that it is is growing a bit. Why has your economy just stalled for the past few years?
They're stupid and can't put a functioning national economy together, at least not by our standards. The (incredibly) false assertion people consistently make is that everyone is capable of the best economy created to this point, that's like saying everyone is capable of running Usain Bolt's 100 time because it's been done.
I think it's also due to location, a country lime chad just can't become a rich country, it has no resources and all its neighbours are warzones.
That doesn't attract foreign capital.
>lime
Like
>slow as fuck industrialization
Why didn't your country industrialise?
Any country that dabbled in communism is guaranteed shithole. Also, shite like corruption, plutocracy is rampant. It's over.
See that high peak and sudden drop there, guess who took power there.
Most African societies prior to European colonisation were extremely primitive in complexity. For reasons that can be explained by geography, isolation and environment, Africa never developed a state institution. States were impermanent and urban agglomerations would appear and disappear, there was no continuity. In absence of continuity, there is little room for Civilizational complexity as everyone has to reinvent the wheel. Part of the reason why most of SS Africa didn't even have writing scripts until Europeans.
So Europeans set up a state institution but did not let native Africans run it. Nor trained them. African society was thus still oriented on tribal lines after independence, and the Europeanized elite that took power from the Europeans were more interested in seething against Europeans out of insecurity than improving the condition of their own people.
As such, the biggest problem that Africa faces is weak state institution. That is compounded by the fact that modern Europeans have become pseudo anarchists and their influence further weakens state institutions in Africa.
>an Indian out of all people lecturing about weak institutioms
Also, how are your primitive communities doing today? I think your country calls them Scheduled Tribes if I recall correctly.
Europe is far less to blame than US and Soviet Cold War shenanigans
More poor people in absolute numbers but are there more as percentage of the total population?
There isn't very many places in Africa where communists got into power. Imperialism however was everywhere
India has the reverse problem of Africa. The society is of too high complexity. Africa's problems can be solved by creating a strong state, India's problems cannot. Because aristocrats, landlords, and feudal lords still dominate the Indian hinterland. Take the Indian state of Bihar, land over there is still concentrated amongst just 7% of the population.
India needs a brutal Soviet style dekulakization.
India's "Scheduled Tribes" are just 7% of the population and they're doing very well now. Because they are not subject to feudals and aristocrats, they modernize completely within a generation.
Did you really not have an agrarian reform since independence? Especially since your government was very left leaning until the 1990s market reforms.
We did. What happened was that land went from royals and old aristocracy to new peasantry who became upstairs.
The royals and the old aristocracy (Rajputs and Brahmins) left the hinterland and settled in urban areas where they went into industrial/tech jobs, while the peasantry got the land.
But some peasants became big men, and grabbed most of the land, leading to a new kind of inequality where the richer peasants robbed the poorer peasants.
There was no collectivisation by the state, instead there was a redistribution on an individual level which lead to simply one elite being displaced by the other.
Your country was never communist, in 1977 they were already being puppetted by the IMF. Every single actual communist country did much better than capitalist Madagascar. North Korea is unironically better than your cholera-infested shithole. You still have the bubonic plague over there. Kek.
>Your country was never communist
Commie revisionism.
came here to write this, and interestingly enough, weak civic institutions and authoritarian rule was the primary reason for lack of foreign aid and investment in our country
>muh caste
lol the nordicist we wuzzers are gonna hate this
Too much soul
