They all look the same.

Japanese use simplified characters, too.
The simplified characters are actually closer to the original characters. Traditional characters are a relatively modern invention. Simplified ones have a longer history.

No

Simplificaiton began under the ROC.

>Simplified Chinese characters are not Chinese characters.

so Hangul arent korean?

what's the reasoning behind the simplified characters? just "takes too long to write"?

basically yes, to make it easier for illiterate peasants to learn to read and write

that's one of the reasons, yes.
A lot of "traditional" characters weren't even in use by the common populace at the time and instead simplified versions used, often inspired by cursive writing, that weren't thought up by some evil scary communists

>Japanese use simplified characters, too.

the chinese butchered more of them but not all of the simplified kanji are ideal or close to the originals

mostly to help out with illiteracy and to reduce the amount of strokes necessary

Inaccurate
The Japanese use rather simplified ones in comparison with the literal origin, still the mainland Chinese today use far more simplified characters whereas the Taiwanese are use the most trad style existing.

Hmm doesn't look like a foreigner writing but looks like a kid writing

Neat and cute

How do you tell them apart?
