It made me realize that America truly is a irredeemable shithole. All the cope about how we make or money or have more global influence is pointless when the quality of life of other countries is still so much better. Everything is better in Italy. The cities, the people, the food, the culture, the lifestyle. Everything. Most people there are good looking, and healthy, and happy. I didn't see a single unhappy person when I was in Italy, and its no shock why. America will never be able to fix its horrendous cities or car based infrastructure or its retarded population or horrible food standards or lack of social safety nets or disgusting culture or any of its other problems. Goddamn it is so depressing knowing that people in Europe live so much better while I'm stuck in this shithole. I need to get out of here ASAP.
I wish I never went to Italy
Yeah but try living on $1500 and you will realize Italy is that great only for tourists.
Italians have an actual safety net though
Their mommies
Not really, no. Unless you consider families safety nets.
The Italians I met didn't seem to have any problems with money. They make less, but things are cheaper there and they have social safety nets to compensate for it.
Now convince those happy people to have children and have some yourself while there, or it's over.
I'm living this shithole for Taiwan. The white people in this country are irredeemable fat racist retards
I would just like to be clear. WE are not rich. Some other Americans and the institutions they control are rich. You are not rich.
When you consider it this way, it’s not that strange that your standard of living is worse than in Italy.
Man I guess they really do suffer. They have close families that will take care of them during hard times. How terrible.
I found italians cringeworthy but some things they have better than we. I am close to filtering italian flags in this website.
Move to Europe fren
just make more lol, I make double that and I live a good life, plus I don't have to worry about buying a house so I can spend my money on my hobbies.
How do you feel about the fact that you can move to Europe but won’t be European?
And if the only reason you want to move is a higher standard of living, isn’t that just the other side of the country of this American thinking you don’t like?
Why is that a matter of what land they are on? You can have a good relationship with your family.
here's hoping.

>The cities, the people, the food, the culture, the lifestyle. Everything. Most people there are good looking, and healthy, and happy
Canada is right next to you bro, don't tell me you can't stand the "cold".
Because that's not the only thing good about Italy. It is EVERYTHING else too. If Italy is considered low tier in Europe then Europeans really do live in paradise.
>but won’t be European?
you'll always be American but that doesn't mean you will be a pariah or will never be part of the community, that's a nonsensical paranoia.
I really want to, but I'll always be an other. I'll never really be seen as a European. It's still worth it though I think. Hopefully after I get my degree I can go to Europe for my Masters and stay.
Italy is the best country in the world for tourists and retirees with money. For money, its fairly low tier, but that is just one aspect of life.
What's your job?
I'm moving to USA because the money there is better. Ultimately anything you complain about, be it food, health, and transport can be solved or improved with money. In Italy, unless you've inherited generational wealth or benefit from nepotism, you cannot earn enough money to achieve your goals. Sure, you could live a comfortable but mediocre existence, paycheck to paycheck, with your ass pressed firmly against the social net, but what about the real desires of man? Raising a family? Owning property? Investing in your hobbies? Starting a business? Pipe dreams to most Italians.
In America, you're only limited by your own will and creativity.
Shut the fuck up. Kids going to coding camps are offered 6 figure salaries in your country
Good luck fren
Unironically, Canada is just America lite. I've been. All the things that make America suck exist in Canada just to a lesser extent.
No, I know that but the point segways to my second question, which is sincere by the way.
I work as a consultant in the renewable energy industry, I'm very in-demand atm 2bh.
You’ll see once you get here that money can’t solve it but I realize you won’t listen to me until you experience it for yourself.
There are nice things about America but many shitty things as well. Just make sure you hang on to your citizenship and your kids get it too.
Have you even visited this shithole? I bet you'd change your mind if you did. Maybe if you moved to Boston or New York or Chicago or something it'd be less shit, but Europe is still better.
Its segue, not segway.
>le american dream
the vast majority of americans lives paycheck to paycheck like the rest of us mortals, there is no perfect place to live, you are just as delusional as OP if you really sincerely do think the grass is greener.
I'm American from one of those places you listed and moved here for a lot of the same reasons in the original post. Like I said, it was like a delicious, greasy pizza that tasted great for a moment but now heartburn has set in. Europe can be a great place to live but most of it, especially Italy, is not meritocratic nor designed for young, ambitious people to succeed.
You're right there's no perfect place to live, but there are better ones. I picked my poison.
you aint american Mario, stop larping, I can tell youre ESL as fuck.
Just out of sake of being reasonable, I did see some problems with Italy. The cities were somewhat dirty and infrastructure was a little worn down, and there were some homeless people (not just migrants) but not nearly to the extent of the USA. The main issue I saw is that it seems like the people are becoming increasingly dependent upon catering to tourists or boomer retirees to make money, but again, that's a minor problem that will probably be fixed. My Dad could've chosen to get Dutch citizenship and he didn't. I could live in Europe right now, but I don't. Fuck.
