I think Halo: CE and Halo 4 have good stories. 4 is a great story. Everything else is either middling, or outright fucking awful. Halo 2 (besides Arbiter's arc), 3, ODST, and Reach are all shit. Halo 5 is a confusing mixed bag, and Infinite eats a bag of dicks in terms of writing.

Technology has enabled a deluge of inexpensive content to be produced and consumed at levels that far out pace the development of talent that can write anything worth paying attention to. It's like in ww2 when factories churned out war planes faster than dead pilots could be replaced.

There's not 1 exact cause for it. It's a mix of the Obama through CRT era mentality of inverted values, narcissism, spoiled/overly prosperous upbringing, hyper-partisanism, laziness, entitlement, and virtue signaling. There's also the issue of diversity hiring and nepotism gone amok so you have lots of unqualified people taking over things.

I feel like I got the absolute best experience out of the Halo series you can get. Played the first one at a friends house, got my own xbox by the time the 2nd one came out to play that and its multiplayer, got to experience the halo 3 hype and played that a lot and after that didnt touch the series once.
But game Chief does talk but it's cool because he has a cool voice and says cool things. This Chief was a fucking fag with an ugly face and an annoying voice.
