They should have made the bristles blue so that the the mouth looks like a blue iris, thus highlighting the the worms' relationship with the spice (and also making it look less like a gaping anus). Huge wasted opportunity.

Fremen people aren't all native to Arrakis. Liet Kynes wasn't born on Arrakis and wasn't originally a Fremen. He adopted the Fremen ways and became Fremen after years of spensing so much time with them.

Well considering Chani is Liet Lynes daughter it would make sense for the movie to follow a race that would reflect a black Liet Kynes (since Kynes is black in the movie).
