What would H. P. Lovecraft think of his TV show?
What would H. P. Lovecraft think of his TV show?
What actually is this about? I never watched it because of all the nignogs
Subversion, the weimar republic wants to undo society.
Same
He would go insane.
Nothing because he wouldn't consume anything made by these types.
So, its basically about these black people going through early 1900s America, and they run into horribly, cartoonishly, goofily racist white people that are basically supposed to simulate how malevolent and insurmountable Lovecraftian horrors are, except those white people get killed by lovecraftian horrors that are pretty cool with the black people.
lol
>except those white people get killed by lovecraftian horrors that are pretty cool with the black people
lmao thanks for the keks
Witches and magic bloodlines. Also there’s a Korean nine tailed fox demon lady in it.
Most of it was
>This scary white family have magic
>This black guy is technically part of the family so he kind of does too (I think raped slaves or something)
>The black guy and his family fuck up the white family and make it so only black people can use magic.
There were a lot of little short stories with each character but they were usually all magic based and to do with race. It wasn’t anything to do with lovecraft, it’s just named that because the main guy likes pulp novels.
>Canceled after few episodes
Go woke go broke
Whats the casting choice for Niggerman?
>Lovecraftian horrors
There were no lovecraftian horrors in the show though. The white people could summon dog monsters with lots of eyes, but they don’t do anything lovecrafty and they’re basically just magic minions.
This show was basically American Horror Story Coven.
>Cthulhu looks directly into the camera
>”Folks, I may be an immortal being beyond mortal comprehension, but even I know being racist is wrong”
This was forgotten basically instantly
It adapted the whole book and ended. It was pretty clear it wasn’t supposed to continue, user. It ended with an epilogue.
H. P. Lovecraft hated black people and all the main characters in his stories are white (even secondaries), Try googling for his cat's name.
Again, this wasn’t a show about lovecraft.
They were planning a season 2. And supposedly it was getting 300,000 views when it was airing. Random ass tv shows during the daytime or TLC shows get more views than that.
It's propaganda, they don't care about making money.while also pissing on H.P. Lovecraft's fans.
Oh, well that would’ve been retarded anyway. Didn’t the show literally end with some meta thing about the main guy’s future son writing the events of the show in a “lovecraft country” book?
>It adapted the whole book and ended. It was pretty clear it wasn’t supposed to continue, user.
lol
See
I don’t know why everyone here obsessively acts like this was some kind of adaption of Lovecraft. It’s literally a show about witches. There was no link to lovecraft at all beyond them saying “that’s lovecraft country” one time and the main guy liking pulp books.
>New Negro Republic
lmao
Because they deliberately used his name in a show about niggers to stick it to some racist guy who's been dead for almost 100 years.
>There were no lovecraftian horrors in the show though.
The protag's dad kills chtulhu with a baseball bat in a dream sequence.
>Put "Lovecraft" in the title
>Constantly get frustrated at the comparison to Lovecraft's work
>As a result anyone drawn by the title stops watching at most a few episodes in
Yep sure showed us.
>dream sequence
Yeah, because he was having wacky dreams inspired by the pulp novels he’s reading
It’s the name of the book the show is adapting
I didn’t even like this show, but it still pains me to see people criticising it from an objectively retarded standpoint. Like the show was really fucking dumb, so why is your complaint “HURR ITS TRYING TO INSULT LOVECRAFT” when like the entire show was about magic rituals and the war in Korea.
It was literally made to insult and mock him, that's the only reason there is a mainstream TV show with the name "Lovecraft" in it. We don't have to guess.
