>they replaced Augustus in the second season
Dumbest possible thing they could have done.

Augustus wouldn't be shit without Agrippa

Controversial opinion here:
Caesar was a good ruler then Augustus fucked everything up. Eventually Nerva was able to fix Augustus's fuck up but then down the line Marcus Aurelius fucked things up again despite being mostly good at his job.

No doubt the world today would be different had Caesar not been killed.

Ceasar was a god among men. Everyone emperor after Julius didn't quite grasp what he was trying to do. They all presented themselves as men.

Titus Labienus did nothing wront.

Caesar is the greatest human to ever live, skill and talent wise to me. No other figure has the combination of political, interpersonal and military skill he has, or half the bravery. On any list if he isn't at the top, the list is wrong.

He is upper level mediocre. Cicero was a better orator, Augustus a better general, Crassus a better businessman and Pompey a better politician.

I hate how the show portrays Antony as some evil sicko and Cicero as a paragon of virtue. Mark Antony probably wasn't an angel but one thing people always ignore in the Cicero-Antony conflict is they focus on how much a big meany Mark Antony was for killing Cicero while Cicero multiple times called for people to kill Mark Antony and even sent an army after him. So why is Mark Antony the bad guy for killing the guy who was trying to kill him?

because Cicero was only going after Antony because he was trying to make himself the tyrannical ruler

>Augustus a better general
What?

Augustus is what allowed the empire to live on.
He wasn't a military genius like Caesar, but he may be one of the greatest statesmen of all times.
Anyone else had ruled instead of him, and the empire would have crumbled after one great conqueror, like it happened to Alexander, Gengis Khan, and countless others.

Augustus was that bad of a general Cicero probably could've beaten him with no military training.

Cicero was a pussy nerd and could have never conquered Gaul. Caesar was a warrior and an orator par excellence.

>Augustus a better general,
He was a great strategist/politician, but he wasn't a better general. Caesar constantly BTFO generals with more than double his men.

cicero was a fucking loser who tagged along with pompey, who was a legend destroyed by Caesar with half the men. Augustus didn't lead or manage his own battles, Agrippa did. Crassus was an idiot and died an idiot's death that he barely prepared for, and Pompey was a legend who was far too interested in the praise of others over power, and was defeated by Caesar.
