Saw the Chip N Dale movie early at a pre screening Here's everything that happens

Starts with Chip n Dale as kids in school. Really manipulative "sweet" moment to win over the audience. Shows them grow up and eventually get the show. Episode they're filming is a gross parody of the original show reminiscent of how turtles forever treated the original tmnt show but not as bad. Dale leaves the show to make a new show with him as a spy and it causes Rescue Rangers to get cancelled. They both grow distant afterwards. Dale goes to conventions like a has-been and Chip sells insurance. Convention has characters like Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast and Baloo from Jungle book who now sports his design from the Jon Favreau remake but standing on two legs. The old pre redesign movie Sonic has a booth and is referred to as Ugly Sonic. Really try hardy joke that focuses on his teeth. Monterey Jack calls Chip n Dale to help him cause his "cheese addiction" wound up getting him caught up with a gang that he now owes a ton of money. Haha stinky cheese is drugs that's the joke. Monty tells them that the gang kidnaps toons that owe them money and turns them into bootleg versions of themselves to make shitty mockbusters. Flounder from Little Mermaid is shown as an example. Days later Monty goes missing. Chip n Dale show up to the crime scene. Police chief is JK Simmons Gumby and is animated on 2's. His deputy is a human woman who's a fan of the Rescue Rangers. Chip fishes in the dumpster for Monty's cheese and traces the address back to a shop. Shop is on Main Street from Disneyland but the joke is that everyone who does business there is really a criminal with some sort of front. Phineas and Ferb's mother is one of them for no reason. Dale describes one of the fronts as "Muppet Fights".

Cheese shop owner is a bootleg Swedish Chef puppet. He kidnaps them and takes them to his boss "Sweet Pete" who's the grown up Peter Pan from the trailer. The complaints on Twitter were 100% accurate and it being a joke on Bobby Driscoll's career is exactly what the point of the character is. He Describes his plan to make shit mockbusters movie to feel in control and to have power. His lackeys are the Coke Polar Bear and Seth Rogen mocap warrior (He does the laugh yes). His front is a factory that repurposes old unsold merchandise into parts for toilets. The one piece of merch they highlight is Shrek bodywash. Up close shot of a plastic shrek face melting. Sick burn?? They escape down the toilet to avoid getting bootlegged themselves. A bunch of bullshit happens and they get Peter's fitbit or whatever tf to track him. They find his warehouse of bootleg making and it's empty. Chip and Dale get stuck in the machine but escape unharmed. Chip gets what's described as a "Snoopy Ear" in place of his real ear from one of the lasers in it. More bullshit happens and they end up back at the convention. He-Man and Skeletor are at a booth and it's their OG voice actors from the original show. They get chased by Peter and his goons around the con and Seth Rogen man falls off a catwalk onto a booth that belongs to other Seth Rogen voiced characters like remake Pumbaa, BOB from Monsters VS Aliens and Mantis from Kung Fu Panda.

Yet even more bullshit happens and the Police Chief turns out to be in with the evil gang. They make a forced joke about how it's cliche. They kidnap Chip and the Deputy. Dale saves them by finding Gadget and Zipper who literally fucked and had half mouse half fly children. They blow up the bootleg machine with a firework and it zaps Peter who turns into a mishmash of cartoon parts. They fucking hit each other on the head to make birds appear to distract him cause he has a cat head. Cuts to the birds in bed who are an arguing married couple. This somehow ends up working and he gets hit by cargo on a dock. The police attempt to take him in but he fucking shoots dale with an actual bullet bill launcher from mario which is his arm. They do the fakeout death trope and the reason dale survived is cause he had a pog in his shirt????? Ugly Sonic comes back in a helicopter cause he's in cahoots with the FBI. They find Monty who was bootlegged to be a fake Dumbo. They all laugh for a really long uncomfortable time at a shit joke. Credits role. Mid credits scene is Darkwing Duck complaining about them getting a reboot and not him. Oh Also Paul Rudd is in it and the only joke with him is that he's at the con and says it was originally supposed to be "Aunt Man" and his power was to be irresistible to Aunts. Lots of fucked up weird billboards in the background. Standouts were a Gucci ad with Dobby from Harry Potter and a presidential campaign ad for Butthead. Overall a fucking confusing mess 10/10

They did it cause the disney club D23 does events of early screenings of their movies. No idea why tf they did this one though. Apparently this movie was in development for at least eight years so maybe they wanted to get it in at least one theater?? idfk at least I didnt pay for it

this makes me feel kind of sad, they should have dumbed it down a little and made it a silly romp that will have zoomers wanting to see the original cartoons

Five years ago this would have sounded like insane babbling.
