There is no alternative to coal for electric energy now that the gas has been turned off by Russia.
Following the Fukushima catastrophe Germany made the decision to abolish all nuclear power plants. I think by the end of 2023 or so. If something should happen, we can't just evacuate everyone in a 150km radius like in sparsely populated Japan or Ukraine.

They are concentrated in the cities, but the landscape around Fukushima was practically empty. Which is why they built the powerplant there and not in the middle of Tokyo.
You'll find no such thing in Germany. We are decentralized and have people living everywhere. We can't evacuate an entire stretch of land like Japan did. It's impossible.
