I actually liked the show. Fae was a little over the top. But Roldie as Spike sort of sold it for me. Obviously Jet's actor was supreme and closest to the source material. I would have been interested in a 2nd season had the 1st not ended the way it did. Julia is by default a weak and timid character. To go with a "Rise up women" arc, was a fool's move. Faye was cute, but insufferable. I would have taken a Bebop prequel with Spike and Jet cashing in (or failing) bounties.

Bebop is the most popular mainstream anime out there, and a live action would be potentially viewed by 10x the audience since most people won't watch animation. What Bebop and other adaptions are doing what the Sonic films succeeded at. The corporate logic is obvious.
I would say that right now especially faithful adaptions are impossible to do. No one is on the same level as the original creators. Smartphone obsessed twitter users in California who love feminism and critical race theory are not the kind of people who made Bebop in the first place.
