She was doctrined by proxy to serve the WHITE-SUPREMACIST-adjacent Empire after Order 66. She's more powerful than Obi-Wan + she's the reason he renews his faith in saving the galaxy. She almost kills him in a duel, but she suddenly has a plot convenient hesitation cliche at the last moment. She sees the error of her ways without his guidance. She saves Luke, Beru, and Owen from getting abducted by Vader, the latter of whom kills her for her betrayal. Her death is what inspires Obi-Wan to protect Luke in the first place. After the duel with Vader, Obi-Wan honors her memory, strength, and independence from those who oppressed her, and he idolizes her as a symbol of hope for the galaxy.
TL;DR The series is about her, less about the titular character.
