I live in the northeast of the US where it gets hot and humid in the summer and all I would need is a fan if the second floor didn't get so fucking hot, especially when I'm using my computer. Even then I can mostly manage with just a fan, I don't know why everyone needs air conditioning so badly. The first floor with a fan and open windows is completely fine
