The last two presidents of the United States literally handed this country to the Taliban as a political stunt. Nope. Fair elections are a meme. Korea had dictators for 60 years and Japan/Germany had deeply controlled politics (still do).

If you had fair elections in Afghanistan it would elect taliban or some tribal meme. The populace is not ready to be turned into western liberals. It would take 50-70 years to do it. Nothing was wrong but the problem was that the project was stopped prematurely.
