What's the deal with Finland? They seem to have (or had) a pretty good influence on net culture, tech savvy, and noticeably overrepresented for a country of 5~ million total.
I'm genuinely curious can any Finns or frens from around that region tell me how it came to be?

I've been thinking about it on and off for a long time dude. Even pre Ylilauta or whatever it's called I noticed Fins had a bit of presence even on old, old Any Forums. Some of the oldest archived stuff is from servers hosted there.

You know, I always ask why big countries are not represented more. Like india has 1bil+ people, philippines and nigeria 100 million+. Even USA with 300 mil is kinda lacking. Why dont these countries post more?

It wasn’t so much bad memories of Finland per say, love the country, but I bought a ticket to stay for a week and she broke up with me basically on the first day. Spent 3 days at her place trying to patch things, next 3 days spent crying in my Airbnb and around town. At one point I was just crying with my head down in the city centre and some QT came over and asked if I was okay.
Essentially my memories of Suomi was just heartbreak, Hesburger, and smoked a lot. It was a drunken haze. I should add she was Russian so I never met any actual Fins while I was visiting, but I don’t think I’ll be able to visit Helsinki w/o these bad memories. Thx for listening to my blog
