Except there's no "schizo" thinking here. There is clear links between Abe, and his political entourage going all the way down to his grandfather amd the Unification Church that the killer's mom went bankrupt from supporting. The links are true and they are deep links. What is unfortunate is that the killer couldn't find the leader, so he settled for the easiest yet most prominent target in Japan, Abe.

That's true, but there's aso a realist aspect. Some thinkers are saying that Abe and his elders used the Church to influence the Korean peninsula's politics and create a supporter base there and in Japan similar to Sokka Gakkai. Back in the 1990s and 80s, there were circles in many universities that had explicit links to Unification Church, and some said they were supported by the LDP. This ended abruptly after the cult crackdown following the 1996 terror acts.
It uses cult-like tactics for its recruitment, most obviously, it "forces" adepts to donate all their money to them.

The Unification Church is pro-marriage, pro-sex, and pro-babies.
They want to unify soul and body, and unify male and female. Their whole church is about having sex and boosting birth rates. In the US, they hold massive marriage ceremonies. In the picture, you can see there's a lot of interracial marriages too, because they're pro unifying races.
Of course, Japan doesn't really like that.

It's less of "Korea's puppet" but more of they're both using each other for gain. The church gives Abe money so he could enact some pro-Korean policies, or allow their church to work more easily in Japan without being investigated or look into them stealing money from their followers. In turn, the church provides Abe with voters and money for his campaign. They both benefit each other.
