Yeah many south Indians like tamils or mallus are here. Also many Gujuratis. Canada got lots of north Indians like Punjabis but even then most don't look like the guy. Like 90-95% of north Indians are dark

It's just a typical desi thing to get a wife that's lighter than you regardless if you're indian, paki, bangladeshi, or whatever. And pakis may be the lightest of the bunch but majority of us are dark and are indistinguishable from Indians. Same for bengalis except they're even darker

I live in an area filled with many bengalis and interact with them often. Many look like south Indians. More so than any other north Indian ethnic group. Yeah I've definitely seen a couple lighter ones who come from high castes but bengalis overall swing more to the darker side from my observations
