australians/new zealanders are culturally much closer to brits than americans/canadians. why did it happen this way in our countries?
Australians/new zealanders are culturally much closer to brits than americans/canadians...
Lol definitely not
Bongs are definitely the odd ones out in terms of behavior
The anglosphere needs to be destroyed.
hmm not sure, if we still had our guns we'd be closer I would imagine.
we still import a LOT of American influence, more than the brits I would say.
brits are our biggest foreign born population as well, which probably has a lot to do with it.
Chile and Latvia are closer to Aussies than the US? Lol what is wrong with straya niggas
but your accent is closer to a british accent than an american accent, the vocabularly is different but the vibe feels similar, you say things like m8 and pub
>australians/new zealanders are culturally much closer to brits than americans/canadians
I’ve always felt that way even the accent too. Only a few boomers here feel British even.
we've had a lot of British immigration over time, far more than the US per capita
culturally not at all, I don't remember what criteria they used for the chart.
maybe due to Quebec + proximity to the US? dunno
>Ireland that low even below estonia
lolmao
yeah I wouldn't read too much into it
>closer to brits
Sure, maybe 20 years ago. We're full on American now, our zoomers all have American accents.
bruv my 11yo niece has a fucking american accent. she says "can't" like "kehnt" instead of "kahnt" and also says "mom" and pronounces the silent Rs. I want to slap her every time i hear her speak and my sister is embarrassed about it
does she say it's lowkey bussin fr fr?
>bruv

based
weird. my little cousin used to have a posh british accent after watching Peppa Pig.
Shit i meant to reply to the aussie
Oh well
Aus/NZ was isolated enough from the rest of the world to avoid the mistakes we made with immigration. Canada still held many British traditions as late as the 1980s and 90s, but is also radically changing due to liberal party immigration policies, 10 years of Turdo.
more than likely. all she does is consume american youtubers into that little spongelike brain of hers. we might aswell just go back to the imperial system at this point. not to mention all the ESLs in this country learned the US edition English. no foreigner here tries to speak like us. it's over.
your cringe remark can no longer hurt me
we should open borders with the the Anglosphere (adjusting per capita or whatever) to keep the cultural link despite demographic shifts, but it wont happen.
US will be fine regardless, you guys can go full isolationist and still be okay.
peppa pig was british?
come home swiss man
We're older. Plus the american experience with blacks (and I guess natives) changed them forever, we can never go back to being european. Aus/nz experience with abos and islanders is different, it didn't sever your european-ness the same way.
