what does Germans think about their country being named after this dude
what happened to his right hand and why did he kill that guy?
He got mad because he was born in Sweden
Did you knew that odin equivalent is actually hermes and not jupiter?
Did you know that Portugal is the only country in Europe that does not name their days after pagan gods?
During medieval times, one of our Bishops thought that was pagan as fuck, so from monday to friday the days are numbered not named. Only the first day "Domingo" and the last day "Sábado" are named, because they are Jewish and Christians loved Jewish things.
all Slavic countries have Christian names for the days of the week. Saturday and Sunday are the basic days and all others are named after their position in the week with regards to Sunday
i thought it would be chronos
Cronos is saturn, so probably to be associated with ymir or fenrir.
For jupiter it would likely be thor
Are they numbered like ours?
For example: Monday is "Segunda Feira / 2ª-feira" or shortened to "segunda" in english Second Fair, 2nd Fair, Second
Today is the day of D E V S M A S R S

Chronos and Cronos are two different gods.
Chronos is Time, Cronos is the cycle of seasons.
Chronos is linear, Cronos is cyclical.
There is only one god and his prophet is Jesus Christ.
>He is one of our gods.
no he's ours
They converged moloch chud
>American retelling of Tyr's story
>"he took care of the heckin pupper fenris and he was a good doggo who dindunuffin and Odin was a bad guy and Tyr sacrificed his hand when he betrayed his doggo"
Why is it so important for Americans to act like this? Why can't you just accept that the aesir and vanir are the good guys in the mythology and jotuns and monsters are the bad guys? Everything has to be subverted and be cuter
Depends on the perspective
Old greeks conflated the two too sometimes
>he took care of the heckin pupper fenris and he was a good doggo who dindunuffin and Odin was a bad guy and Tyr sacrificed his hand when he betrayed his doggo"
No one said this
týr and zeus share the same etymology
comparative mythology is fun

But I like Thor from Marvel/
All European Gods are the same, all derived from the Proto-Indo Europeans. That, however, does not mean that Gods can't change, some can even become two or two one, but the roots are all the same. Thor's hammer used to be a stone axe, but through culture and development it changed into a hammer; European paganism isn't like the Abrahamic religions that usurped it, it is more fluid and much less dogmatical
Looked up Tyr Norse mythology on youtube (i was bored) and 2 or 3 videos said this
Atleast they know what and bad, pendejo amigo
Maybe if your a greek/roman brainlet, but Chronos is primordial and Cronos is a titan so... no sweetie, they are not the same! I can EDUCATE YOU on this if you ask nicely though.
Discount Marte/Ares.

Why not Mars?
You have to wait two day until it's Thursday.
Yeah.
Germanic pagan deities were directly borrowed from the various figures of the mediterranean pantheons. Before that, they were animists/druidic of some sort.
Extremely based. How we went from worshipping Father Sky and Mother Earth to worshipping a dead, brown, circumcised semite is beyond me.
