You will definitely need a tour guide btw, if you are 100% against it a sat phone and nav are essential. If your car/bike breaks down in the middle of nowhere there might not be anyone in a 50 km radius.

yea ill probably have to do that, i remember my uncle who worked for a swiss bank was there with some russian oligarch and it had something to do with prezwalski horses that were getting moved there but i dont remember exactly what he said.
anyway so they were driving in the night and got stuck in sand, and if some random nomads hadnt showed up with horses and pulled their car out they wouldve been stuck out in bumfuck nowhere. He also told me how much he loved it there since you feel so free with all that open space, thats when i decided i was gonna travel there. But yea ill definitely get a guide and do stuff safely
