Based
It's actually a fairly good thing for us.
Our problem is with our supply chain issues, but inflation at any other time would have made all economies but Germany boom.
We're all export based, so a weaker currency is great for us. The problem is just that it's not homogeneous inflation, but concentrated on energy supply (which then trickles down to other things).
If we put in place some mechanism to better distribute the burden of inflation throughout social classes we'll actually have gained from this.
Germany has kept the euro too strong for our needs for the past two decades, meds have won our battle; just in a less efficient way because we can't reap all its benefits during a recession (covid+energy costs make the increase in employment caused by inflation smaller and slower).
kek unironically this, we’ve been doing it forever before fucking euro
kek.
though you aren't better off, Nigel.
If I'm not mistaken the pound inflated more than us, you're not too far off from 1:1 yourself.
We’re fucking them so hard with Ukraine. MANPADs in the hands of the most corrupt European country.
Germs thought they can do their own thing without consulting the UK and US first….. no Russian gas for Hans lol

Not in trade outside the Euro, which is what this affects.

It's good for shitaly because this inflation will reduce the value of your massive debt.
Pound went from 1.39 to 1.19 (-14.4% ytd)
Euro went from 1.19 to 1.00 (-16.0% ytd)
Yeah I'm wrong, but to an almost irrelevant degree.
They've devalued a lot as well is my point
