Install gentoo
Use Ubuntu or Debian first, they are the most popular.
Or if you want to go the Arch route, go with Manjaro or Endeavor.
Personally I prefer Arch-based distros, but newcomers should be familiar with Debian or Ubuntu.
Install fedora
Linux mint
the most user friendly one since linux is a pain in the ass for anyone who isn't an unemploy nerd but be prepared anyway to see a lot of programs without gui and to type a lot of shit even for the most miserable thng
Fedora is okay, haven't even tried others in 10+ years though. Also this:
Debian

I would go with MX
mint or fedora
For me, it's debian sers
I use mint because everything always works in mint and I dont have to waste time
Honest advice user, use whatever is on this top 10 with the exception of Garuda. Never understood how that distro became so popular if its utterly shit with even a shittier community.
You can't go wrong with mainstream distros, specially Ubuntu, Mint, openSUSE, Fedora or Debian
based
Holy shit garuda was.
So many problems and wasted hours.
Debian is the epitome of 'it just werks' without being too bloated(if you want)
if you're newbie, just go get ubuntu
Kali :)
Gentoo or Artix
what he said
old pc
Not gentoo, unless you are into cock and ball torture
Not debian based distro unless you want apt to break your system every update + shitty ppa thingy
not fedora package manager is ass
artix but unironically, OpenRC configuration preferred or openbsd if you want to configure it as a server
I read that it was made by indians after seeing the success of manjaro and that indians started shilling it because muh nationalism
don't know if its true but seems likely
this
kubuntu if it's not a piece of shit , xubuntu if it is.
it has 2gb RAM
alpine
>it has 2gb RAM
user... is it x86 too?
Bunsenlabs might be the answer
artix will literally take 600 megs at tops if you install it with openrc + tiling wm.
You can pull the kernel source and run
"make localmodconfig" then refer to the arch wiki for further customization of kernel for less memory consumption
or go with Alpine is the most basic you can get. Kernel + busybox
