One of the main benefits of ze bugs is that they are biologically dissimilar to us, at least when compared to mammals like pigs and cows. Many of the infectious diseases that plague us today originate from livestock. When you eat humans, that risk of disease increases dramatically. It's really not a good idea.

Well, yes and no. Kuru is only in nervous tissue, but that's not all you're in for. If you take deer or elk, for example, any part of the body can carry the prion for chronic wasting disease.
