Russia

On a continent full of little pissant countries with little pockets of small tribes all packed together, how did this monstrosity come to occupy one THIRD of Europe with all its ethnic minorities pushed into the fringe regions?
Look at all the little Slav groups in Germany or Turk villages in the Balkans, a Russian oblast is bigger than these entire countries and none of that diversity, linguistic or otherwise

because most of russia is empty land

And most of, say, Poland isn't?

we're god's chosen

Who cares? Why do Americans assume a country being big = good? It only leads to problems. 99,999% of big countries are absolute hellholes.

he poked the cat
thats cute

1) high testosterone 2) good managment (not valid after 1917) 3) weak neighbours 4) protestant work ethic 5) high IQ

but mostly just weak neighbours

>how
Absolutely backwards finno-ugric and mongol tribes with little to no government who ended up being easy to control + yeah, most of the country is pretty much empty and unlivable

This has nothing to do with good or bad, it's just a curious thing that a big country is so close to tiny countries, and the tiny countries are the ones that have a bunch of little ethnic minorities you've never heard of whilst an entire third to half of Europe's lands speak a single language. Who the fuck ever heard of the Gagauz, for example, turns out they occupy a little sliver of Moldova which is itself a country you can drive across in two hours. You don't see this shit around the Don River basin, it's all Russians for hundreds of miles and it always has been, this is unheard of in central Europe even though Austria-Hungary and Turkey were historically big countries occupying those areas

most of russia is recently colonised territory, same thing about the US. the only difference is that we colonised it in 17-18th centuries, and you did it a hundred years later

>This has nothing to do with good or bad
The sheer frequency of Americans using it as an insult suggests otherwise.
>it's just a curious thing that a big country is so close to tiny countries
Russia is big due to history. Most of the country is empty and the Russians expanded due to the Siberian fur trade.

>Absolutely backwards finno-ugric and mongol tribes with little to no government who ended up being easy to control

They were always mogged by both tho, how did they suddenly become strong and eat up all of their neighbors?

>Poland: population density 120/km^2
>Russia (European part): population density 29/km^2

Major european powers didn't know about valuable resources in Siberia so they weren't interested in conquering it.rsax8

what a fat disgusting finger

you are gay

Very few pepo. Nomadic steppe tribes, Finno-ugric deer herders and Caucasian sheep herders easy to conquer

>offshore rat running off the sinking ship has spoken
You need to go back to the winning ukraine, turkoid, and give back the stolen money of hohol taxpayers(oxymoron)

Russia should be bigger, all the Slavic countries should be part of it.

On behalf of Finland I apologise for Rurik and baltic finns who started this monstrosity

it was. First, Moscow killed all such Novgorod dialects. then new dialects developed in imperial Russia, but they were killed by the Soviet education system, removing imperial letters and standardizing everything
