I'm Chinese and I am unironically obsessed with the Abraham religions

Even though Im mostly raised as Buddhist, I am obsessed with Abrahamic mythology. I tried to get into Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythology with the Percy Jackson series but Abrahamic relgions got me hooked even more.

My favorite stories are the Garden of Eden apple story, the fight between the two brothers, the story of the flood and the boat, and then after that the story of Moses.

How do I stop my obsession with the Abrahamic mythos?

Brother go to the Abrahamic religion and explore . But I can gurantee you 1000% you will come back to the way of the Dharma within 2 years.

I love the Dharmic religions, and I love Buddhism and Hinduism and all that jazz.

But I can't help but feel there is something mystical in the Abrahamic religions - in the Kabbalah, in Sufism, in Neoplatonism.

Akhi
Islam are the rules and ethics of your creator
You shouldn't feel weird it's the right path

Of the Abrahamic religions, I actually like the Kabbalah and Sufism and Gnosticism more because i they believe in reincarnation and angels and the immortality of the soul and things already quite similar to dharmic religions.

You must study Hebrew and read the Torah (Bible) the intended way.
I can not even begin to explain to you how much I love the Biblical stories.
You can learn so much from them, even with secular perspective.
Read about the Prophet Jonah, beautiful moral.

Thank you, I do think Hebrew and Aramaic is quite a beautiful language when I listen to it, especially with the beautiful chanting voices that the rabbis sing them in.

Beautiful morals* AND amazing qoutes.

Just go and explore Brother . The Buddha also said to follow any thought that gives you peace . But from my experience , all my friends who converted to Christianity and Islam from Buddhism/Hinduism , reconverted back with 6 months.

No body is going to study Hebrew or Arabic to read some Jewish fairytales in their original form. How narcissistic are you?

Read the quran fren
Find the nearest mosque they'll welcome you with open arms

You'll love the stories and ethics taught
It's 98.8% ethics and stories

Recently I found out that during medieval times, the Buddha was considered a prophet in Islam and a Christian saint, and was respected by Jewish figures too.

>No body is going to study Hebrew or Arabic to read some Jewish fairytales in their original form.
Wait until this guy hears about hasidic jews

Do NOT listen to demonic religions made up to keep in a state of permanent servitude. The original religion of humanity is Christianism, corrupted many times by cath*licism, talmudism (not original Hibiruan ancestral tradition) and tribalistic aggro submission (islam). Embrace your own original connection to Source following the teachings of Master Jesus and unlock the Christ in yourself.

We likes Jesus unlike jews
Also let's so stop fighting like idiots
If he becomes a jew Christian or Muslim it's still better than nothing

As long as you are a moral person and you do not murder, steal, lie, commit sexual immorality, and love other people - you are called a son of God.

Heaven will reward the righteous of all nations.

By the way, we read Jonah portion in Synagogues in Yom Kippur, Holiest day of the year. A day of repentance where we beg for forgiveness from G-d.
And so the story of Jonah alignes well with that day. Read about it, read about Yom Kippur. There is a long prayer in which the precise ritual of the Great Priest (Cohen Gadol) in Yom Kippur is described. Imagining the Great Preist, in the Temple in Yom Kippur fills my heart with wonder. Read about it. It's a biblical holiday and the most important one.

>The original religion of humanity is Christianism
Christ didn't even walk this earth more than 2000 years ago. How could it be christianity is original. Oldest would be the original proto-indoeuropean religion and worship of *Dyḗus ph2tḗr

>As long as you are a moral person and you do not murder, steal, lie, commit sexual immorality, and love other people - you are called a son of God.
And who on earth is this sinless?

Are you implying that Dharmic religions are below that of Abrahamic religions? I didn't say that I viewed it as that, but I think every religious tradition has something special to offer.

>all these abrahamic pigs trying to shill their retarded religions ITT

Look at you, filled with hate. The path of the Torah is one of love and it's ways are ways of peace.
People like you sadden me.

I think you'll Iike these stories from the quran

No one is free from sin, but one who has faith and tries to keep good karma will let themselves become closer to enlightenment naturally.

The Buddha said that salvations come from detaching oneself from worldly desires - and embracing our original nature.

The soul (atman/buddha-nature) is an emanation of the Buddha (God), and therefore is instrinsically pure and immortal.

brahman (God) is the original source of everything, and the atman (soul) is just a derivation of that.

I know, LOL. That was just me going overboard and having a little fun.
Everything else I said was genuine,.

Yes could be because at one time entire Central Asia that is the Greeks and the Turks were followers of the Buddha , so Abrahimic religion could add him for more syncretism.
This is one of the reason that my friends reconverted , some pastor told one of my friend that his father is a devil worshiper and a pervert , since he was a staunch hindu . He reconverted back the same day.

As a Chinese, I will never disrespect the Buddha and always love him. I just think that it is good to learn the beneficial positive things about other religions.

Like I said before, the religious traditions I am most attached to are ones already quite similar to dharmic religions like hinduism and buddhism - such as neoplatonism, gnosticism, sufism, and the kabbalah.

The soul is immortal because it is derived from God, and reuniting with God by being a moral person is the ultimate goal of everything - just like atman and Brahman.

You don't

Just stay away from Islam. Shit is really fake

>Dharmic religions are nothing in the eyes of the chudslim
Come on, I like Islam's aesthetics, but dismissing a rich philosophical and religious tradition stretching to 2000 years older than Islam's start is extremely silly and self-righteous.

I like Sufism. I like the story of Moses.

An Egyptian person told me that Moses is loved in Egypt because he saved Egypt from the Hyksos.

At some point we will have to agree that every major spiritual tradition has been tainted with the lust, greed and hate of some people who literally decided to conspire against their equals for power. Humans have been living in a state of slavery far too long and we need to talk about it. Let us hear the many ways we have found to describe the dynamics of the soul around the world. Let us hear the claim of Mother Earth who's desperate asking us to wake up and stop killing each other. Maybe then we will have a chance and will stand up bravely against evil, which is something very VERY real.

The jews were the Hyksos. Their language was an early version of Aramaic, which Hebrew is a dialect of.

As a Chinese, here are the only aspects that I dislike about Abrahamic religions.

- Eternal damnation (which Judaism does not have)

- Circumcision (which Christianity does not have, and most sects of Islam agree it is optional)

- Animal sacrifice (Judaism does not have since it there is no temple in Jerusalem, Christians do not have because they believe Jesus's death fulfilled all sacrifices, and some schools of Islam agree is not mandatory)

>The Buddha also said to follow any thought that gives you peace .
This doesnt sound like something he'd say

Absolutely , you are young , take whatever knowledge that gives you peace.
