50 years ago, definitely. Today, yeah they're mostly francophone neighbourhoods that interact within a large multiethnic and multilingual environment. Places like Lac St. Jean, not so much. Outside of MTL, the Outaouais and the Eastern townships Quebec is really homogenous, like icelandic levels.
