I was very upset when I heard the news that he died. He was Australia's greatest friend and ally in Asia, and did more than anyone to bring our countries closer together.

He was a terrible president and I remember him most for being a coward during every issue Japan had in his two terms. Japanese politics is of course such a joke that it takes skill to stand out at particularly bad when the entire parliament resigns because its easier than admitting to making mistakes.

That said he obviously didn't deserve to die like that and it's a shame, but I can absolutely understand why someone would want to keep him out of politics. And in Japan everything is so rigid that the common man has zero influence on what the elite does and no voice at all, so it's not like he had much choice.

just saying. if it had been me on that platform, things would have ended differently

You would have been shot in the liver instead?

Are you half Chinese by any chance?
same

It's been confirmed that it wasn't even politically motivated.
