How are the Mongols viewed in your country?

In France, we view them as a distant tribe that once conquered large swathes of Asia, blissfully unaware that they were ravaging Eastern Europe and Russia while our kings were trying to broker an alliance with them to defeat the Muslims during the late stage of the Crusades.

I have a friend in work named Horolsuren, what does it mean?

Strong scary people

it was better when it was naturally beautiful and not destroyed by commie architecture

Means big booty hoe.

the great ones plunged far west

Its our shithole bro.

what happens in mongolia?

Literally nothing, I have no idea how this economy manages to function. But otherwise its nice if you have a decent job.

our ancestors :)

Ok without joking, Horolsuren is a Tibetan name, its meaning is some sort of charm suren meaning amulet/charm.

What do you even export, I don't know anything about modern Mongolia

Do some Mongols have Tibetan surnames? Since you guys practice (or used to) Tibetan Buddhism and all

There are no surnames in Mongolia, you take your father's given as your last name. You can also have an ovog (clan) name, nobody really knows their clan so people chose after the end of communism (most chose Borjigin). Tibetan (gelug) Buddhism is the most popular religion.
Coal, gold, textiles, copper, iron, oil etc.

"Not my problem" ("thank god" *wipes sweat from forehead*)

Everybody ignores that after the first defeat we won.

Just like nobody cares that France won in WW1, its a sad world my cousin.
