I reached N2 in my 3 years of studying Japanese. Maybe you don't have people to study with you. I have three friends with a native who are studying Japanese together. Yes, a native. I dunno why, but he sucked at memorizing and writing kanji despite being a Japanese native himself, or maybe he's just pretending to be bad at it.
Also, never learn Korean. It's a fake nation inflated by dollars.
