>user, what's the point of reading so many books and learning so many things if you wont make money from it
>later proceeds to spend their day watching anime, netflix or playing videogames
User, what's the point of reading so many books and learning so many things if you wont make money from it
the problem is bookfags like you pretending reading is anything but another consumer hobby
>he thinks I read fiction
if you're doing anything that isn't for the purpose of your own happiness and that of your family and friends you are a massive retard and a fucking cuckold
money for the sake of money is close to the mentality of a slave
I don't know where to start with reading
People say read more bro!
But idk what to read lmao
if it is, then why isn't it as popular as video games or tv shows?
just google what books are good for whatever shit you're into.
I now use gpt-3 to give me books recomendations.
Now I have a 30 book backlog on female psychology, female sexual psychology, teen psychology, and psychological manipulation, what sexually subconciously excite the female brain and pick up books and sales techniques.
WHY?
FUCK YOU WHY.
Is fun to read non fiction.
Jesus Christ what is this post
stfu tripoli and tobacco
I'm trying to read about psychology.
I'm not saying you're not allowed to enjoy it, but unless you're using what you learn it's not any better than something else. That's said it's not bad to do things you enjoy. Just don't try to rationalize it with excuses other than "I enjoy it".
Why are some shows or games more popular than others? People have different preferences.
self study is under not a single definition part of consumerism.
newfag.
why is the preference so much greater for digital media than it is for books to the point of being disproportionate?
If you're not using that knowledge to produce anything, it's pure consumption.
I don't know but my flippant answer would be people have short attention spans and prefer more stimulating stuff.
Don't be rude
Bookfags are still pretending reading isnt useless?
Lmao
that's because books are not just about stimulation. it's not just trying to make you feel something or want to buy something, it's supposed to make you think and solve problems in your head.
literally me
pick up any subject you like
sometimes even picking a subject you don't like can help you find what you like by elimination
you havent even tried
I hate that "reading" has become a sort of activity distinct from others
you read shit everyday
I can get paid for pretending even I wasn't ATLAS
>he thinks fiction is different than ''reality'' only because one has more features than the other
This was me as a teenager minus the GPT goddard Jarvis. I had Roosh and Billy Gene
I read Any Forums and my asian wife's texts
In my personal case, is my goal to become later a writer, so I need to get a lot of knowledge as form of intelectual capital to quickly become a skilled writer.
Even if my goal was just to read for fun, is not the same.
It would be like saying that going to the gym is the same as watching people TV about people going to the gym while you're in the couch and eat fast food.
retard.
Your brain becomes stronger by reading, which doesn't happen with passive manchildren entertainment.
video is much slower and inferior product for dumb teenagers and manchildren.
Also, any serious topic that isn't entry level first week into an intro college topic, about the most entry level topics is not on youtube.
Good luck finding a youtube lecture about something like a bach score analysis using the method of arnold schoemberg, by example.
That's not on any youtube or video on any site on the web.
>unfunny reaction image post
Sad
Why do you abuse the chans like this, argie?
I could buy 100 gorillion acres eventually and start my own family instead continuing the shameful mutt hellspawn I was cursed with for 7 generations.
This is what the American dream was all about: new begininings. I want a TRIUMVIRATE!
But first I have to find coins for laundry.
I miss discovering /lit/ for the first time years ago and creating lists of things I wanted to read.
I agree, but so does a good video game.
The fact that you so easily apply consumerist categories to things that predate it by millennia shows how much of a consooomer you really are. Someone who only sees the binary of production and consumption. Are religions just consoooomer hobbies? Listening to Beethoven is just a consumer hobby? Painting? Sculpting?
