I'm 25 years old and have a good engineering job. This country is turning into a shithole imo. I want to leave this country in like three years.
What do you think is the best country an American like myself can easily immigrate to and assimilate in? Or if you think your country is good for American immigrants, please sell me on it. (I'm not a hypebeast or loud Logan Paul type so don't worry about me wreaking havoc.)
I am considering NL, DE, UK, IE, IT, ES, JP, TW with the Netherlands being my top choice. I love their cycling and walking infrastructure. I haven't been but I see videos about it on YouTube all the time. I plan on learning Dutch to fit in with the locals.
The things that I am looking for in my new country would be: * Easy path to residency and later on citizenship * Good access to public transportation * Emphasis on non-car transportation * Universal healthcare * Decent government * No guns * Good Internet speeds * Good food (give me your favorite native dishes from your country)
One thing I am kind of worried about is xenophobia. I hear Europeans (and Asians especially) are less tolerant of foreigners than us Americans, despite all the stuff you see on the news. Would an American or a person of mostly Spanish/Italian descent be treated differently in any of the countries I listed above? I've heard stories about that happening in places like Germany and Japan (a lot here for any non-Yamato non-Japanese).
please tell me you are just baiting surely you didn't actually buy into the memes
Cooper Nelson
Hell yes MF
How is it there? Is it always hot and dangerous like the memes say?
Adrian Price
Go suck start a shotgun you crybaby.
Carter Fisher
No man. You should see this place for yourself. Everything is getting expensive here and the fact everything depends on gas/petrol is just stupid. Like if I want to date, the girl has to get in my car or vice versa.
LMAO apparently I triggered all my compatriots. You guys should really see this place for what it is. You cannot tell with a straight face this place is the greatest country anymore. The Boomers made sure of that. Imagine having a hospital bill of $2,000 for sitting in the waiting area and $5,000 for a bandage for a scrape. This is all just bullshit.

>>I have never been but I have seen youtube videos Kek op is such a fag
Joshua Myers
Just move to SanFran
James Hughes
How about Canuckistan? That's where I'm planning on going anyway and it's probably the easiest for you to go to.

Let me guess, you've traveled the world on your own dime before graduating college and before COVID restrictions? I can now, but my employer only gives me two weeks of vacation.
I love San Fransisco, but I don't know if I can sell my soul to those big tech companies. Rent there is $4,000+ a month, so I'd have to work for something like Apple. I will give it more consideration though since it is within America still and is constantly working to improve its public transportation.
Robert Cruz
Canada doesn't sound too bad, but I'd like to live in a major city. I constantly hear Canadians complain about stupid high rent costs because the Chinese keep buying up all the land there. I'd have to find a dummy high paying job there just to live in Toronto or Vancouver. I'd have to accelerate my growth as an engineer to get a high-paying job there since I'll be a foreigner.
Alexander Moore
>Mostly Spanish and Italian
SPICS WANT TO LEAVE AMERICA KEK
Brayden Reed
first of all, you aren't going to assimilate anywhere except maybe the UK (where gas costs $10/gallon since you are so concerned)
>public transport functions better than america but worse than everywhere else in europe, i'd avoid using it if possible due to the people you will encounter >non-car transportation yes you must walk past all the crackhead homeless retards in europe it is mandatory >univerversal healthcare lmaooooooo he thinks communist healthcare was really going to work my man you will simply die on the NHS many such cases >decent government this is unironically how the UK government functions (it doesn't) youtube.com/watch?v=nSXIetP5iak >no guns for non criminals yes >good internet speeds not really tbqh they are better in fucking romania than here >good food food is the same everywhere when you make it yourself we have a kebab shop if you really insist >xenophobia yes we invented racism what of it
UK sounds pretty good from the way you describe it except for the government working in those four stages. That's just what we do here.

I am moving to the netherlands in september. Dont steal that idea from me.
Lucas Thomas
Bruh shits getting expensive everywhere you retard
Lucas Campbell
If you keep talking, I'll have to come to you :)
The hat has spoken.
Is it really that bad in Canada though? Like is the rent actually that stupid high in Toronto?
Lincoln Fisher
I mean yeah, but can you imagine if you could just say "fuck it, im taking my bike and getting a workout while Im at it. oh i smell? hey boss maybe i should just work from home because gas is so expensive i have to ride my bike here"
but unironically this would be so good. id save $150 a month if i didn't have to drive everywhere plus id get a workout in
Jaxon Robinson
Its like america but without the guns, more liberal and everything is stupidly expensive. I am moving out in september.
Ian Murphy
Wages are low and rent is high, yes. My cousin is an engineer and he lives in a one-bedroom apartment with his wife. My cousins are all employed and live with their parents. My brother has two roommates.
Caleb Torres
can i come with? lol
Jayden Wood
I work from home in CS. Just make your money and retire early
Christian Lewis
>an American like myself Americans can't be immigrants. as soon as you even consider leaving, you are no longer an American.
Cooper Foster
Doesn't sound much better than us desu. Must be nice to leave North America for a nicer country. Don't forget about us!
Holy shit. That sounds like hell. That also sounds like New England where I'm from. How did you guys let this happen? You guys were supposed to be better.
Thomas Morales
I've seen a lot of people posting about moving as of late. What gives?
Jordan Robinson
I've been thinking about CS. I'm learning embedded systems and web development. What do you think about these as a CS person? Are they too hyped up?
Cameron Bennett
Why don't you tell us what your lifestyle is?
Carter Flores
No way jose unfortunately the government doesn't see it this way >desu wtf why is there a desu in my reply?
some people got triggered by roe v wade getting overturned. apparently that was enough to get them riled up. ive been wanting to leave since covid started. sucks being a zoomer sometimes
