I'm only on holiday here but pretty much everyone in japan wears a mask at all times, except of course when they're at home or eating/drinking. But even outside in 35 degree, boiling humid weather almost everyone outside is wearing a mask. Also for some reason they have turned off all hand dryers in the country. This isn't a government ban or something, everyone just decided to do this. They think hand dryers spread covid, despite the fact you only put your hands in them after you've washed them.

But we all just LARP like it's not happening. Not a peep from Democrats or Republicans. Vaccines recently came out for the under-5 set and I've seen zero pushes to try and get people to have it done.

The healthcare system is bad but I don't even know what that has to do with the simplest thing of wearing a mask, getting the vaxx, social distancing when possible, purifying the air, improving ventilation, etc. All that can be done and should be done before we step foot in a doctor's clinic.
