The infrastructure to ensure such centralized control may not be as reliable as they hope. Things are going to get harder and people will find their own ways. This will manifest itself in greater emphasis on local affairs, in my opinion. What’s a political party, news, hell even government or law to you if your power is constantly out and you are working to make food all day. Cities will be hell.

In 50 years or so it will be a South Africa situation where the whites who haven't fled are forced to live in compounds with private security.
I don't see an apocalyptic collapse/balkanisation of the American state, but things will decline so much in every metric it will seem no different to if it had.

Instead, think of the next 40 years as brain draining as many 3rd world countries as possible for cheap labor. Infrastructure won't change, every city with the exception of the NE will become like Houston, a plywood ocean with little regard to efficiency, space, or livability. Whites will condense into an upper class among Asians and Indians, while the rest of the country is either mestizo or black, given Africa will have +2 billion working age hellspawn ready to move in anywhere that serves up gibs. From there it will be a decay into a 3rd world country, with the East and west coast more influential and powerful than they are now.
