Is it true that Americans don't have electric kettles in their homes and instead boil water on the hob like some kind of medieval peasant? It's true they plumb the depths of depravity but I can't quite believe that.

That's factually wrong.
They heat all their water in their microwaves.

tsmt

Explain to me how water that is heated in an electric kettle is superior to water that is heated in a microwave.

Explain it to me using science.

Americans heat water by clapping them cheeks

What's wrong with that? Has same end result

No

A kettle boils away impurities by reaching a higher, longer and more consistent boil than a microwave. It also has a filter in the front to get rid of the minerals of heavy water. A kettle also allows you to boil a proper amount rather than a cup which big old American sausage fingers at likely to spill all over themselves anyway.

It also keeps the water warm far longer without a need for constant or additional heating and you can measure out precisely how many cups you need.

its easier

Is it true that the British drink tea? Are they gay?

What the fuck is a kettle? Why wouldn’t you just boil water in a microwave??

You click "on" and it brings any amount of water it can fit to 100 degrees and then turns itself off. With mw you need to know the exact timing to have a 90-100 degree water and no more than that otherwise it'll implode and jump out of the mug
Kettles are dozens of times more energy efficient
Many electric kettles can keep the water at a certain temperature like a rice cooker
It's more hygienic because kettles keep the water at the boiling point for 10-15 seconds which kills more microbes than does microwaved water (since the heat is cumulative you can't keep it at the boiling point and have to turn it off)

What a great thread idea friend! This is a really nice topic! Thanks for posting it!

>electric
just do it like a normal person

VULGAR

The heating element is inside the water so nearly 100% of the energy is transferred into the water. It also switches itself off at the correct temperature. It is also filtered.

>on the hob
Did you really expect to get away with this?

Our language, our rules mate.

this I have a super powerful burner and it's fun to crank it up to full blast

I live in a fucking desert, why in the fuck would I boil my water. I don't live on the Oregon trail you idiot.

He said, shitting his guts out.

We do use electric kettles almost every single time we boil water, they're built into the water tank on a coffee maker. Americans basically never boil water for tea.

The real people you should be going after are Italians.

I have one, but it's certainly not common. My guess is the preference for coffee over tea just leads to people using coffee makers instead.

I have one
I use it because im lazy
I figured euros (or atleast you guys) would use old style kettles because eets da propah way of doin thingsh

That's like punching a kid with Downs Syndrome, after a few hours it gets boring.

Nothing is yours anymore. All of East America is unitedstatian now but if any of us belongs to them more than the rest it's you.
You gave yourself and all of this continent to them.

It's because they have 110v current.

I have only had diarrhea once in the last three years, and it was from drinking heavily and eating a dozen jalapenos

Not using the microwave only makes sense when it makes a difference. Obviously it can't replace a stove or an oven for cooking but there's no point in having an appliance that doesn't add anything out on the counter.
I have a kettle that I got a long time ago but I never bothered making a spot for it when I moved. There's no benefit to it.
