Because they’re a politically authoritarian enormous country that has skyrocketed to economic prominence in a very short amount of time with a very rapidly expanding military, along with a set of global ambitions, an obvious deep-seated cultural grudge against MOST of the other largest economic powers on earth, and a dead-set determination to reclaim their long lost perception of glory.
